The Wicked Oyster, established in 2004, is located at 50 Main Street in the town of Wellfleet on Cape Cod.
The original structure houses our main dining room and it dates back to 1750. The building was floated across the bay from Billingsgate Island, which is now a mere sandbar visible only at low tide.
Through the years additions were made to the building as it went from residence to restaurant. There were quite a few popular restaurants here, but one of the most beloved was, undeniably, the Wellfleet Oyster House.
While adding our own touch to the building we are careful to honor its rich history and keep the comfort of a Cape Cod home.
Atmosphere and Character…
The restaurant’s exterior is a weathered shell, in which lies a buzzing life filled with delectable flavors and the simple unassuming elegance of a pearl.
Dawn brings the smell of freshly brewed Beanstock coffee from our coffee bar. Daylight streams through the windows of the enclosed porch where locals and visitors alike enjoy their morning coffee and a deliciously fresh breakfast!
In the evening, lights are dimmed and candles are lit for a more sophisticated feel. The bustling bar and dining rooms come alive! From dawn to dusk, The Wicked Oyster offers its patrons the comfort and sensory experience of Cape Cod, in all of its seasons.
Currently, we are reserving the spaces directly in the front of our building for “Curbside Pick-Up”. When dining inside or outside, please use the parking lots at the back of the restaurant.
Though we have expanded our parking area at the back of the building, it does still fill up quickly. So, when planning your visit, consider carpooling if possible…it’s good for the environment AND the other customers.
*Please do NOT park at The Well or at the property on the corner of Route 6. Thank you!
Adorning the walls of The Wicked Oyster are works by local artists, both past and present. These amazing pieces are courtesy of The Berta Walker Gallery, located at 208 Bradford Street in Provincetown.
Virtually all of the art you see on the walls of the wicked oyster are available for purchase…and if a particular artist strikes your fancy, please do visit the gallery in Provincetown. It is worth the drive…AND the gallery has it’s own parking! Always a plus in Provincetown! View the current schedule of shows at www.bertawalkergallery.com
